The Fieldnotes approach
Responsible gambling
A casino review is information, not a reason to gamble. Choosing not to play is always an option.
Before you play
Use only money that you can afford to lose. Keep rent, bills, savings and borrowed money out of a gambling budget. Set a time limit as well as a spending limit, and stop when either is reached.
Gambling is not an investment or a way to solve financial problems. A previous loss does not make a win due. Avoid playing when distressed, intoxicated or trying to recover money.
Know how to stop
Look for account limits, breaks and self-exclusion options before depositing. Availability and operation vary by service; a link to a tool is not proof that we have tested it.
If you want to stop, close the game, use the account’s stopping controls and consider removing saved payment methods. Ask a trusted person for support if that helps you keep the break in place.
Signs to take seriously
Spending more time or money than intended, hiding gambling, borrowing to play or repeatedly trying to win back losses are reasons to step back. You do not need a diagnosis or a financial crisis before seeking support.
Finding support
A healthcare professional or your province or territory’s public health service can help you find local gambling support. If there is immediate danger, contact local emergency services. We do not provide counselling or monitor individual gambling behaviour.
Our role
This site is for adults of legal gambling age in their location. We do not promise winnings, publish guaranteed-return strategies or use countdowns to pressure a decision. Our review methodology and affiliate disclosure explain the limits of our work.
